1. Who we are
Verdant Press is operated by Prime Gadget. Prime Gadget is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice β we decide why and how it is processed. You can reach us using the contact details on our About page.
2. Data we collect and why
- Account data (email address, display name, login credentials managed by our authentication provider) β to create and secure your account. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- Order and library data (books purchased, order status, entitlements) β to deliver your purchases and keep your library available. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- Download and usage activity (download events, timestamps, IP address, device/browser information) β to deliver files, prevent abuse and licence sharing, and keep the service secure. Legal basis: legitimate interests in protecting our content and service.
- Reviews and support messages (ratings, comments, correspondence) β to publish reviews you choose to submit and answer your questions. Legal basis: legitimate interests and, for published reviews, your consent.
- Service improvement data (aggregated usage) β to improve the catalogue and site. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
- Legal and accounting records β where we must keep them. Legal basis: legal obligation.
We do not collect or store your card details. We never sell your personal data.
3. Who we share data with
- Paddle.com β our Merchant of Record and reseller, which handles the sale, payment processing, invoicing, tax compliance, refunds and related buyer support.
- Service providers / subprocessors β hosting, database, authentication, file storage and email delivery providers acting on our instructions.
- Professional advisers β legal and accounting advisers where necessary.
- Authorities β where required by law or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
4. International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country, including outside the UK/EEA. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.
5. Retention
Account, order and library records are kept for as long as your account is active and for up to 7 years afterwards where needed for tax, accounting and legal purposes. Download and security logs are kept for up to 12 months. Support messages are kept for up to 24 months. Reviews remain published until you delete them or close your account. When data is no longer needed it is deleted or anonymised.
6. Your rights
Subject to your local law, you may request access to your data, correction, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Contact us and we will respond within one month. If you are in the UK/EEA you also have the right to complain to your local data protection supervisory authority.
7. Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls, row-level database permissions, and private storage with time-limited signed download links for purchased files.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in and to remember your cart. Any analytics or marketing cookies, if introduced, will be optional and you will be able to manage them through your browser settings or an on-site preference control. Paddle may set cookies during checkout as described in its own privacy notice.

We may update this notice; material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
